We've just uploaded a teeny, tiny updated pdf pack to address a small technical issue with the Companions deck. Turns out the bottom row of the fourth sheet was ever-so-slightly larger than the others (by like a micron) causing the cards (and therefore the entire deck) to be not quite so flush and symmetrical ...you know, the way you would want your date for the prom to be. So we fixed it. Oh, and we've also included a second version of the Bakery dice giving players an option between the standard "regular bread" dice and the more exotic, delicately scented* and strangely alluring "steamy bread" version. *Scented papercraft dice may not work or function in all regions subject to import duties and other nonsensical flim-flam-ery but wouldn't it be totally excellent if they really did smell like freshly baked bread cause I'm actually hungry right now. Um. Batteries not included. Oh but to be slightly more serious for a moment, it does bare mentioning, for anyone still following the progress of this little project... (crickets). We were on a nice little roll there for a while during the early months of 2024 but we'll be gosh darned if life doesn't have its little ways of coming around and being like, "HEY! Pay attention to this OTHER THING that is actually way less fun and relaxing to work on than a silly dumb Board Game THING! which doesn't even have a properly organized manual (lol) OMG!" Yes. Life shouts too much (and it's also kind of mean). What's the deal with that anyway.
Edit (5/06) New pdf packs have just been uploaded and are now available to download. The timestamp on the file should indicate 24-0506. Components that were updated include:
More detailed information in a future blog post. ~ Original entry ~ Hello again. This post is meant as a temporary means of sharing a single (pdf) file. Essentially, it's an updated rules addendum containing changes that have been in development over the past several years, some of them going as far back as 2016. This replaces the previous version (included with the pdf packs in Oct 2017) and contains roughly 37 pages of game content, revisions, changes and updates. The whole thing is formatted landscape and meant to be printed (20 sheets) single-sided, which should just about be enough for a regular staple to handle. Heroes of Feonora Rules Addendum (2024a) Once more free time becomes available the file will get added to the pdf packs so that anyone who comes along (to download the game) will have this updated addendum, which is meant to serve more as a guide for helping players get their own set up-to-date. At the same time we hope to replace this (or add a new) blog entry, offering a bit more background on how things have come along. We do want to be cautious about setting expectations in that various decks and components will continue to be still fully playable but somewhat out-of-date for the foreseeable future. The main thing this addendum brings are some fresh new ideas and ways of going about things. A few big changes are included. We hope you like them.
Three months since the last post. Hello {politely waving}. Something small but worth a mention. Character portraits, just a few mind, have been added to the existing collection. The file remains separate from the main pdf pack and can be found just underneath the large Download buttons.
Meanwhile a few other game-related items have been getting some little amounts of attention lately; although, with the demands of life (and other distractions) let's not venture a guess when we'll have something to share. All we can say is that this... 'creative work of some measure' has continued to grow and develop, subtle, slowly to be sure, in ways we wouldn't have been able to predict eight years ago, when the core ideas for the game were set in motion. But we feel in some ways we've grown along with the game, and that has been both good and useful. Please do keep the feedback coming. It's valuable, and, though some of your suggestions may not be integrated quite as you might have envisioned, the ideas and themes continue to inspire the design and direction of this curious little fantasy world. A special nod to the families and player groups who've been trekking out into the wildlands with their not quite perfect game sets. It's always such a joy to hear the stories and anecdotes surrounding those games. |
